Our Story

Omega Corporation’s roots run deep — beginning with a dream, a foundry, and a family.
Robert Cutshall founded Omega Castings, Inc. in 1975 with a clear vision: to produce alloy castings and assemblies with superior metallurgical and dimensional integrity and deliver them promptly to every customer. Even the location tells a story — during a period of widespread gas shortages, Robert strategically chose Battle Creek, Michigan, for its natural gas reserves, setting up shop in a 1930s-era decommissioned military swimming pool whose tiled walls and filled-in pool floor proved a perfect fit for a foundry. To this day, the original pool depth markings are still visible on the walls.
Over the decades, Robert continued to modernize and grow the company, adding a metallurgical laboratory, in-house machine shop, heat-treating furnace, CAD capabilities, and advanced casting simulation software. Through every challenge, his founding principles never wavered.
His son, Brett Cutshall, grew up immersed in the family business — watching molten metal poured on the foundry floor and learning the value of hard work on the family farm. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Michigan State University in 1996, Brett joined Omega Castings and built his career from the ground up — leading the research laboratory, driving continuous improvement on the foundry floor, and rising to Vice President in 2015. The passing of Robert Cutshall in 2020 marked the end of an era — and the beginning of a new chapter rooted in his memory. Brett assumed the role of President with a deep sense of purpose, committed to honoring his father’s life’s work and ensuring that the values Robert lived by would continue to guide Omega for generations to come.
Today, Brett leads Omega Corporation with a forward-thinking vision rooted in the values his father built — honesty, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to quality, safety, and on-time delivery. He and his wife Julie are the proud parents of three adult children: Emily, Lydia, and Andrew.
Robert’s founding vision is still our mission. As Omega Corporation approaches its 50th anniversary, we remain committed to producing superior castings and assemblies and delivering them promptly — just as we always have.
