About Us

Our Story

Omega Corporation’s roots run deep—beginning with a dream, a foundry, and a family. In 1975, Robert Cutshall founded Omega Castings, Inc. with a clear vision: to produce alloy castings and assemblies with superior metallurgical and dimensional integrity and deliver them promptly to every customer.

Robert strategically selected Battle Creek, Michigan, for its reliable natural gas supply during a period of widespread shortages. He established the foundry in a decommissioned 1930s-era military swimming pool, where the original tiled walls and filled-in pool floor proved ideally suited to the operation. The pool’s depth markings remain visible on the walls today.

Over the decades, Omega has continuously modernized while upholding its founding principles of quality, integrity, and customer service. The company added a metallurgical laboratory, an in-house machine shop, a heat-treating furnace, CAD capabilities, and advanced casting simulation software.

Brett Cutshall, Robert’s son, grew up immersed in the family business. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Michigan State University in 1996, Brett joined Omega full time. He advanced through key roles in research, operations, and leadership, becoming Vice President in 2015. Following Robert’s passing in 2020, Brett assumed the presidency and has guided the company with the same dedication to excellence his father instilled.

Today, Brett leads Omega alongside partner Paul Tackett. In 2024, Paul — a longtime friend of the Cutshall family with extensive Lean-Six Sigma expertise — joined the company full time. In 2025, he became a partner concurrent with Omega’s acquisition of Advanced Special Tool. This strategic expansion has enhanced our machine shop capabilities and broadened our manufacturing offerings.

Together, Brett and Paul are committed to carrying forward Robert’s legacy while driving the company into its next chapter. Their shared vision emphasizes continued investment in advanced technology, operational excellence, and superior customer service. With this strong leadership team in place, Omega remains dedicated to producing the highest-quality alloy castings and assemblies- delivered reliably and on time -while pursuing sustainable growth and innovation for the future. Having celebrated its 50th anniversary, Omega looks ahead with confidence, grounded in its founding values and strengthened by experienced, forward-thinking leadership.
